You make a living from what you get.Biography

Dear Friend:

I am writing to inform you that I am a candidate for the NYC Council in the 31 st councilmatic district in Queens and that I need your support.

As you know, campaigns cost money. We need money to operate the type of campaign necessary for victory. With your generous contribution, we will be successful.

I am running for the New York City Council because I have a plan for the district. The
Lewis Plan
is to improve living and working conditions in the district. My priorities are simple: improved education system including vocational training and opportunities for our children, better transportation services, job creation, community development, safe streets and environmental justice. Crime has escalated and we must reduce it as well as incidents of police misconduct.

Let us continue to develop vacant property and give local residents employment, assist business development and growth, create affordable and market rate housing, repair the parks and roads, improve the boardwalks and build a shopping center to create jobs. Let's do it together.

My pledge is to represent and fight at City Hall to ensure we get our fair share. I will fight for you and your problems. I will be your voice.

This campaign is about you: the needs of your family, our youth, your business and most importantly, how we can solve problems together. It is only through this kind of cooperative effort that we can better the quality of life we deserve and have earned.

I need you. I need your financial support, guidance and wisdom. Any monetary amount that you can contribute will be deeply appreciated.

Join me in this journey. Please make an investment in the future of our district. Please send your contribution to:

Fred's credo for life comes from the 1994 Inaugural Speech of Nelson Mandela:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
Other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other
People permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
